Aftercare — how to make a set last

Retention is about half technique and half what happens in the three weeks after you leave. This is the half that is yours.

Lash cleanser and brushes

The first 24 hours

Keep them dry. No swimming, no steam room, no hot yoga, and keep your face out of the shower spray. The adhesive is still curing.

No makeup on or around the eyes for the day.

After 24 hours, live normally — this is a one-day restriction, not a lifestyle.

Every day after that

Cleanse the lash line. A foaming, oil-free lash cleanser and a soft brush, once a day. Most people are far too timid at the base, where it matters, and too rough on the tips, where it does not.

Brush them through. A dry spoolie, first thing, takes ten seconds and keeps the set looking deliberate.

Sleep on your back if you can. If you cannot, a silk pillowcase reduces the damage. Face-down sleeping is the most common reason one side looks worse than the other.

What to avoid

Oil-based cleansers, oil-based makeup remover, and heavy oily sunscreen anywhere near the lash line.

Waterproof mascara, which cannot be removed without doing exactly what breaks the bond. You should not need mascara at all — that is rather the point.

Eyelash curlers, ever.

Picking, pulling and rubbing. If one is twisted or bothering you, text me and come in — do not pull it.

Then book your fill

Two to three weeks from your appointment. Past four weeks it becomes a full set again — see fill or full set.

If retention has been poor, tell me at the fill and bring your cleanser if you are not sure it is lash-safe. It is almost always a small fix.

Straight from Amber

The guidance above reflects how I work and what I tell clients in the room, but the card I hand you at the end of your appointment is the version in her own words — and it is not published here yet.

[SLOT: Amber’s full written aftercare instructions — pending. Her existing written notes cover before the appointment, not after.]

Until that lands, take the version above as mine rather than hers, and text me at (803) 431-4387 with anything specific to your set.
