Applied properly, no. What damages lashes is bridging and weight, and both are application decisions — so here is exactly what I do about them.
Every extension goes onto one single natural lash. Never two, never a lash plus a neighbour caught by accident.
When two natural lashes get glued together — bridging — they are on different growth cycles, so the stronger one pulls on the weaker one for weeks until the weaker one comes out early. Do that across a whole lid and you get genuine, visible thinning.
Isolating properly is slower, which is why a rushed set is a risk to your lashes rather than just a worse-looking set. It is most of what the two hours buys you.
A natural lash can carry a certain length and thickness and no more. Past that it bends, twists and eventually gives up.
This is where I occasionally have to disappoint someone. If you show me a photo of extensions built on lashes much stronger than yours, I will tell you and offer the honest version — a shorter length, or a volume fan of finer diameter instead of a single thick extension.
It is also why volume is not automatically heavier than classic. Fans are made of much finer lashes, so the load per natural lash can be lower than a thick single extension.
Persistent itching or redness at the lash line — come in, do not wait it out.
Extensions sticking together in clumps, or a set that feels heavy or sore. That is bridging or too much weight, and it should be removed rather than filled.
Visible gaps after a set is removed. Some of that is the shed you could not see under the extensions, but a lot of it is a sign of how the previous work was applied.

Not to be difficult — because I cannot vouch for what is underneath. If the previous set was bridged, filling it means building more weight onto lashes that are already being pulled.
So if you are wearing extensions from another artist or salon, book a removal first. Thirty minutes and $50, and then your set starts from a known position.
It is the least commercially convenient policy on my menu and I am not changing it.
