Curl decides how open your eye looks and whether the set is visible at all when your eyes are open. It matters more than length, and almost nobody explains it.
C curl. A gentle, natural lift. Sits closest to how most lashes already grow, so it reads as "your lashes but better". The safest choice and the one I use most.
D curl. A stronger lift with the tip pushed further up. More dramatic and more visible from the front, which is the point — but on lashes that already grow straight up it can look surprised rather than lifted.
L curl. A straight base with a sharp bend at the tip. It exists for hooded and downward-growing lashes: the flat base sits along the lash, then the tip lifts clear of the lid where a C or D curl would disappear under it.
Which way your lashes grow. Downward-growing lashes need more curl to read at all; upward-growing lashes need less or the set fights itself.
Your lid. Hooded and monolid eyes are curl problems, not length problems. This is where L curl earns its place.
The look you want. Open and wide, or long and soft. Same lashes, different curl.
Mixed curls in one set are normal, by the way. A stronger curl through the middle and a flatter one at the inner corner is often what makes a set look natural rather than stuck on.
You will not find "D curl" as a bookable service. Curl is decided in the first five minutes of your appointment, along with length and placement, and it is part of every set at no extra cost.
If you already know you like a particular curl, tell me — that is genuinely useful information and it saves us both time.
